About the Mostly Magic Shop

The Mostly Magic Shop was founded by Jon E. King in May, 1992. It was the oldest magic shop in the San Francisco Bay Area when it closed on August 27, 2011. It was the same location for its entire run.

Jon passed away suddenly on December 10, 2006 after a graceful and courageous eight-year struggle with cancer. He left the shop to his long-time colleague, Ken Garr.

Ken and Jon have mentored many local magicians, who can now often be found at the local Magic Club meetings.

The Community Lives On

Although the store is closed, Ken continues to
perform and teach lessons.

The magic club continues to meet on its usual schedule.
