About the Mostly Magic Shop

The Mostly Magic Shop was founded by Jon E. King in May, 1992. It is now the oldest magic shop in the San Francisco Bay Area. It has been in the same location since it first opened.

Jon passed away suddenly on December 10, 2006 after a graceful and courageous eight-year struggle with cancer. He left the shop to his long-time colleague, Ken Garr, who has sought to continue the friendly environment that Jon established.

Ken and Jon have mentored many local magicians, and several can often be found passing time in the store, showing each other tricks, and entertaining visitors.
